REM - Resort Equity Marketing Complaint - DANGER!!! This Company just STEALS peoples money!!!

Review by lferrick911 on 2009-12-02
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLORIDA -- I choose to sign up with this supposed company REM Resort Equity Marketing to list my TimeShare in Las Vegas. They continually called me telling me that I would receive lots of calls and emails with offers to purchase or rent my Timeshare in Las Vegas. I was told that they would list my property until it sells or gets rented which I NEVER received even ONE phone call or email from anyone on this. I fought for a refund through my credit card company and they really tried hard to help me get my $899.00 back and these THEIVES made up rules that never existed and would NEVER provide proof that they ever listed my property since day one. BEWARE, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!! They will steal your money and give you NOTHING in return. This company should be taken down and thrown in jail!!!!!

Wow. Definitely talk to the Atty General's office in your neck of the woods. They need to be looped in on this outfit.

All REM will say is that the $899 was the price to list the property and that they never guarantee that a timeshare will sell.

But there is at least an implied (if not written) guarantee that they will take reasonable steps to fulfill their end of the bargain (listing the property). If they can't prove that they did anything for the $$, the OAG is gonna be all over them.

NEVER pay anyone to "sell" your timeshare for you. There are many more timeshares out there available at any given time then there are people that want to buy them. I have never heard of any of these resale companies that are very successful.

Also, be aware of the double dip - some of these folks will call you in a couple of months telling you they are with a recovery company and they can get your $899 back for a small fee. Just hang up on them.
