Target Complaint - Terrible Refund Policy
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Ordered a dining table on-line. Very easy and simple. The table finally arrived after waiting 2 days for the delivery as they stated it would be the 1st but didn't arrive until late on the 2nd. Opened the packaging and to my surprise the table was broken. I go on-line to see what I have to do to return the merchandise. First if you return via on-line they will credit your account - OK - but they won't send a replacement you have to re-order. So it would take them 14-21 days to credit my account (while I am paying interest) as they won't give the credit until they receive the merchandise but to replace it now I have to re-order with them charging me immediately. So I choose to return at the store, what a great option - NOT! When I get to the store I have some kid tell me they are refunding the cost of the table ONLY - I asked what about the shipping and tax. His statement was we don't know how much that would be. Go figure they can charge the tax when we buy stuff at the store but can't calculate it when we return stuff? Then he goes over to the kiosk pulls up their on-line refund policy and says "See to get refunded your shipping you MUST return it on-line". Needless to say I have lost the shipping cost but buyers beware. This makes no sense for a large store not to refund the shipping. I asked the person I was speaking with to talk to a manager and he stated he was the manager. So I again asked how I get my shipping back and he stated I can't now since they already credited my card for the refund. So what a concept you order on-line, pay before you receive merchandise, you have to return the merchandise back to them via on-line all the time they have your money tied up and they collect the interest while you pay the interest. Will NEVER shop Target again.
