PNC Bank, NA Complaint - Bank fees for Pending Transactions (But they only count expenditures not deposits)
HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA -- PNC Bank is charging bank fees based upon pending transactions nationwide.
For example, if you have $10 in an account and you have three pending transactions of $4, their computer will lower availabe balance to $-2 and charge you three separate $36 bank fees even though you have posted funds to cover two of those pending transactions. I also had "overdraft protection" that had enough funds in it to cover these ($4 overdrafts) but the computer would not transfer funds because there was less than "a minimum" of $50 available.
Additionally they will not take into account pending deposits, but they they will lower available balance and charge bank fees.
Although the people I talked to at PNC were very professional, they could not acknowledge that charging fees because of pending transactions can cause extra fees to be generated, even if there are posted funds to cover some of these transactions!
Has anyone else had this happen to them.
