Hackensack University Hospital Complaint - Dirty Place
HACKENSACK, NEW JERSEY -- I have been visiting this hospital for 2 months now, and am astonished at how dirty it is. Sure all the signs say to wash your hands, cover coughs and sneezes, use the Purell which is present every few feet. But if they's pay attention to THEIR cleanliness and cleaning methods instead of focusing on the visitors, many more infectious issues could be prevented. Examples such as flithy elevators- if I notice the filth, why no one there? Filthy buckets buckets of water dragged all over the place and mops that surely can't be sanitary when flopped from side to side in patients rooms that require gowns and masks, then flopped around down the hall in other rooms. Surely a patients bathroom cannot be deemed "cleaned" when a spray of something outside the room onto a blue cloth is taken in the bathroom and in 1 minute is brought out and placed back on the cart. The public bathrooms are disgusting also- I really have not seen efforts to be clean in any part of the place. It is just a rote thing for employees who have no sense of hygiene themelves to slop a filthy mop- that hardly gets the entire floor clean even if brand new- and move on. NO ONE SUPERVISES them! Complaints pointing this out to nurses go on deaf ears- they just shrug. I am told the place has a bad representative for infections- and I surely can see why.
