Home Depot Complaint - Online Home Depot Uses Sneaky Tactics
On Thanksgiving, I placed an online order for a front loading washer and dryer. I could not buy a matched set because the white washer I wanted to buy had a message attached to it saying it would not be available for over 90 days, therefore I had to buy a white dryer with a red washer. I should mention that the red washer was $100 more than the white one. The next day I went online to search for the pedestals. I found that the white washer was NOW available, so I contacted Home Depot to see if they could replace the red washer with the white washer. Spending a total of close to 3 hours waiting, and then finally speaking with a representative, I was told that Home Depot does not have a policy for modifying orders. I would have to either wait 72 hours (the sale would be over by then) for them to give me a credit for the red washer, or purchase the white washer along with the red one and the dryer. My credit limit would not allow this so I was told to speak to someone in New Accounts about getting a credit increase. I was told this would take 7 to 10 days to review. Of course the sale would be over. I canceled my order out of frustration. I also wrote several emails asking why this policy was in place and why I could not buy the white set at the sale price. It was a total waste of time. I will NOT be dealing with Home Depot, especially online as they use the bait and switch type tactics. I do NOT recommend purchasing anything online from Home Depot.
