USA -- For all of you/us that have had loved ones in jail you'd better add stationary to your Christmas list.
The courts have ruled in the prison phone service's favor, you can forget about those class action lawsuits. There is a precedent and I don't see it being overturned nor should it be. IMO
Just thought that I should give you all that come here hacked off about the rates a heads up. I know it sux but had "Bubba's glove not have fitted, he would have been aquitted!"

Best wishes and write often.

New York's top court rejects prison phone rate refunds

ALBANY, N. Y. -- New York's highest court is ruling that families who've had to pay high phone rates to talk to relatives in state prison won't receive refunds for the cost.

The lawsuit was first brought by the inmates' families in 2004.

In a 5-1 decision Monday, the Court of Appeals affirmed a lower courts ruling that the families failed to assert legitimate claims under the state constitution.

Defense organizations and relatives of inmates argued the state had illegally collected millions of dollars through a prison telephone service contract. They said the state's contract with MCI Worldcom Communication was unconstitutional and violated the state constitution.

The contract was amended in 2003 to set a new flat rate for calls -- $3 per call plus 16 cents per minute.

Replace the phones with bread and water!

you know i found out why "bread and water" was suppose to be so horrible...

according to the episode of ncis i was watching, the diet basically backs up your intestines

that's prolly why in the navy, the CO is authorized to put someone on the B&W diet but for only 3 days. And i've not actually heard of it being done.

Is this the reason I've not heard from you in a number of days ZZ? I was beginning to feel quite lonely. It gets cold in this place at night and I don't enjoy Beula staring at me. Please, I beg of you, come up with the bail money.
