Beneficial Finance Complaint - Harassment from Beneficial Finance
RENO, NEVADA -- As a consumer from your state, I felt it was my responsibility to bring to your attention the following incident.
I don't know what to do about this situation. Several weeks ago I received a phone call. The person did not identify themselves with any company or by anything other then their first name. After asking directly they said they were with Beneficial Finance and they were not soliciting anything. They indicated that a check had been cashed for 5,000 dollars by a person with my name. I told them I had not received or cashed any check from them. They wanted me to give them the last four digits of my social security number to verify that I was not the person. I told them I would not do any such thing. I did not. They have continued calling here now for the last three weeks sometimes as much as three times in one day. They called again this morning..Saturday morning at 8:15 am. We work late hours and I was furious. From what I could gather, this company sent out an unsolicited check to someone with my last name. They do not have our address but for some reason they have our phone number. We never received anything from these people and have never cashed anything from them. I told this man he should stop calling us and go to the right party he sent the check to. I also told him I would not give him my social security number. What else can I do to stop this person from calling here? I am at my wits end.
