Classic Honda Complaint - Stay Away From Classic Honda Dealership

Review by yadayada on 2009-12-14
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- I went to classic Honda to test drive an audi I saw online, I fell in love with the car and went in to get approved for a loan, which they told me I was approved and it was a good deal. I took the car home. The next day the dealership called me to go back to the dealership, little did I know it was to tell me that I did not get approve and I would have to put more money down to qualify. I had already given them 3000 now they wanted 2500 more. Since the car was 12,000 with taxes included I decided to just pay cash. Now on my third day with the car the dealership called my job, my cell phone several times as if I stolen their car....they threaten me that they would call the police and they where heading to my job to pick up the car. I tried to explain that it was taking me a while because it was a credit union account that I have located in a different town about 2 1/2 hrs away. to take out that much money takes a while, they still didn't understand and was treating me as if I was a thief...

I figured they just wanted me to get financed because they would make more money that way. And that car would cost waayyyy more money then it was worth.

I'd tell them to take the car and shove it up their asses as I walked out.

There are a number of problem for the dealer here because you still have the car: 1) Obviously their concern about getting the car back, but more importanly 2) they are liable for your driving because the car is still in their name; 3) what happens if the car is wrecked, who is responsible; 4) Does their dealer insurance cover a car in this quasi-sold state, just to name a few. They behavior and wording may be improper, but it certainly seems that once financing did not go through it was not unreasonable to get the car back until you actually purchased it.
