Wal-Mart Complaint - The email I sent to customer service
LOUISIANA -- I came to walmart from shopping at Albertsons, I was sick of being harrassed by the bag boy. I was overjoyed when my local walmart got self check-out lanes. For the past couple years or so I have been harrassed by walmart employees. I have been TOLD to smile, for most this would be no big deal, for others who suffer chronic pain and just want to get in and out of the store, this selfish power play chit chat (trying to make me smile while in excruciating pain), or jumping into my business (I was asked by the door lady one day if i "worked late?"- I don't know this lady and was menstruating with the most severe cramps of my life- I told her "no, i don't even have a job, I'm menstruating"- just so I could get by to get groceries. Today I felt like my business wasn't even wanted...I have no toilet paper in my house and while at the self check out, the lady is telling me walmarts' price of $6.55 is too much for 12 rolls of scott toilet paper- that it's better to wait til it goes on sale for $5. I HAVE NO TOILET PAPER AND I AM IN CHRONIC PAIN. Please tell your empoyees to stay out of peoples business. If someone isn't smiling, it is for a reason, don't ORDER them to smile, just like you wouldn't order me to go put on hair if I were ravaged by chemotherapy. Self check out is great when I don't have to talk to employees. The next time I am harrassed, that will be the last time I shop there. It is rough to be living hand to mouth and have people in my business who are obviously more well-off than I am, they have jobs! Their job is not to tell me what to do or what to buy or when to buy. Their job is to make sure I don't steal anything. THAT'S IT. I go to walmart and experience this EVERY WEEK, one day a week. If Walmart wants to help me save money, send me a gift certificate, but don't let your employees make me feel inadequet because I am in pain and can't smile or because I need the groceries I am picking up. MY shopping time at this walmart is usually between 7am-9am on Mondays.
