WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA -- Grandma purchased a DSLite from Newegg for my son's birthday. It arrived and was opened and in the birthday clean-up the RETAIL box was discarded. The next morning the trash came. Also the next morning we realized that the Ds had not charged over night. We thought we had done something wrong. However it never would hold a charge for more than 15 minutes and then on day 4 we opened it to play it and the top screen was just vertical lines. I contacted newegg and told them we had no box they told me under the circumstances they would give me a new product. When the product was received by newegg they informed us we were out of luck because we had no retail box. I talked to Best Buy and Walmart and they said a retail box was NOT required for return. Therefore we made a complaint and received an email saying that after further review we would receive a full refund. Unfortunately after 60 days of dealing with this and AFTER receiving the nice email we received the broken product back today. My son was so excited, only to be reminded that it did NOT work and I am in SHOCK that a company can get away with this kind of customer service. I feel scammed and totally disrespected as a consumer and I will NEVER do business with them again and will NEVER recommend them to anyone ever.
