Home Depot Complaint - A Big Let Down - Delivery service
MECHANICSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA -- I want to start by saying that I have been a die hard shopper at the Home Depot for many, many years. I'm in home restoration and they have always been my first choice in many purchases. I've never chose to have anything delivered and this will be the last time. My wife & I recently purchased a washer & dryer at Home Depot. The salesman was almost too friendly. We put the purchase on our credit card which meant we got no interest or payments for 12 months. Our washer & dryer was suppose to be delivered on 12/4. However, when I get home and looked at the paperwork I noticed that the delivery date was 12/13. I called customer service and was informed that the delivery would happen on the 4th as scheduled. Then about a week later I receive a phone call saying that our washer & Dryer won't be delivered until 12/31. I stop and ask myself, who is going to be delivering anything on New Years Eve ??? It's only 12/16 so I still have 2 weeks to wait and I'm hoping for the best even though I have my doubts. Even if the delivery does take place on the 31st I still lost a little over a month on the 12 months no interest or payments, plus the inconvenience of having to go to the laundry mat which is extra out of pocket money. I just don't understand how they can write up a contract, then date the contract different from their verbal agreement and then don't even stand behind what is in writing. If I done that to a home owner I'd be sued. I have literally spent thousands upon thousands of dollars at the Home Depot and never expected anything like this coming from a store I've stood behind so many years.
As a contractor myself I have even sales pitched Home Depot to homeowners for supplies & materials. Never again. I've been telling everyone who will listen about my recent experience and hopefully influencing their decision making in where to make purchases especially for delivery. This overall experience has been a extreme let down.
