Sears Informative - Mail order- Sears keeps your money- charges first delivers who knows when
Ordered a part from Sears they said they had. Next day got email and checked status..backordered. Called and cancelled order because they did not know when they would have it. Normal policy does not allow returns but since it wasn't shipped and was backordered Sears said no problem. Fixed appliance without Sears help. One week later, got email from Sears. Part has been shipped. Checked the bank account. They had charged us for the part four days after the cancellation. Refund of payment could take as long as 24 days to post to our account. Talked to Sears for hours on the phone, they were no help. Even though we cancelled the order and they agreed, they now have our money and we are waiting for xmas shipping to get a part we don't want and then wait some more while they process and process and well....you get the point. They charge for something before they ship, even if it is backordered. Getting your refund can be a huge hassle. Other reviews on their site show many people have the same problem.
