Metrowest Painting Contractors Complaint - Fradulent Contractor - MetroWest Painting, Waltham, MA

Review by orangeman on 2004-08-23

On April 3rd, 2004 we signed a contract with:

Mr. Dino DiStefano
Metrowest Painting Contractors
738 Main Street
PMB 196
Waltham, MA 02451

As part of this contract, we paid a $3,000 deposit (50%) on a total estimate of $6,000. Mr. DiStefano was supposed to begin work on my home on June 1, 2004. Like other postings on this Board, Mr. DiStefano insisted that the check be made out directly in his name. After as many as 10 unreturned phone calls, he came to my home removed all of my shutters and powerwashed the home on July 20, spending a total of 2 hours at the home. It is now August 23rd and we have not heard from Mr. DiStefano nor has he done any additional work on the home. He has refused to refund us our money, even trying to claim we were in breach of the contract.

He also did not have a vaild mailing address on the contract and never returns calls on his voicemail. It is clear that Mr. DiStefano's scam is to convince customers to pay deposits, spend two hours powerwashing the home, never come to do the work and then try and charge an outrageous amount of money for the powerwashing and not return your original deposit. There are at least two other postings on this site referencing Dino DiStefano. He has used multiple names for his business including D&A Painting and Sudbury Perfection Painting.

I encourage anyone to contact me at the following e-mail address if you have also had problems with Mr. DiStefano: preventpaintingfraud@comcast.net
