Home Depot Complaint - "No mas!" - "depósito de hogar"?
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- For over 10 years Home Depot has ALWAYS been my store. Yes, the counter staff is rude and helpless, but they almost always have a good selection of the things I am looking for. I have always passed up other HW stores to get to Home Depot 1st. Everywhere else was always last on my list. Not anymore. I went to Home Depot yesterday and found what I was looking for (again) and then some. When I went to the self-check line, the register asked me what language I wanted to communicate with. Living in Houston, I'm used to this. I don't like it, but it seems to be the trend. The problem with this question was that the register was asking me this question in SPANISH!!! It's bad enough seeing freeway billboards in Spanish, but COME ON!!! The 1st language this register used was Spanish. Home Depot has lost my business forever. I've been turned down for jobs before because a Mexican would do them for less than a legal and/or living wage. I pay school taxes to teach children who aren't even citizens. Taxes their own illegal parents pay less of because they are shacked up with 3 other family's in a 1-bedroom apartment in a neighborhood they derade daily (which also brings down property taxes).
I also pay social security taxes which their grandparents receive who aren't citizens either. Now I have to understand Spanish to shop in this American store? Good-bye, Home Depot...you just don't speak my language anymore...
