Extended Stay America-Morgan Hill CA Complaint - Keep a close eye on your credit card statement

Review by aikpn on 2009-12-21
MORGAN HILL, CALIFORNIA -- My co-workers and I stayed at this property for several weeks during the summer of 2009. A few weeks after I had checked out, I received my credit card statement and saw that the motel had continued to charge my account beyond my check out date. I called the property several times, each time asking the person answering the phone if I could speak with the manager. After leaving several messages on the manager's voice mail with no response, I finally was able to 'catch' him on duty one day.
I pointed out that I was not staying at his property for the nights that my credit card was charged. I asked that they return the monies to my account. The manager was very uncooperative and rude. He stated that he refused to return the money and laughed at me when I stated that I would report the charges as fraudulent to my credit card company. The uncooperativeness and his attitude upset me.
I called the corporate office and have left several voice mails with the regional director(?) of this ExtendedStay. Although I have left at least ten messages (to their credit, I have received 2 missed returned calls) I have not been able to resolve their mistake.

When you checked out, didn't they give you a receipt?

Did you actually dispute the charges with your credit card company?

What reason did he give for not correcting the issue?
