Ramada Complaint - WON'T ALLOW CANCELLATIONS

Review by aquinn14 on 2009-12-22
We made a reservation online under "best available rate" to stay with the Ramada in Mooresville, NC. Unfortunately, due to weather in VA and the holidays, we are unable to make our trip. RAMADA WON'T ALLOW CANCELLATIONS!!!!! NO CHANGES, NO CANCELLATIONS, NO NOTHING! BUYER BEWARE!

Not gonna start on this one....anybody else?

Odd. Most major chains allow changes due to weather. Not always a refund, but credit for the next stay, etc.

Isn't "best available rate" the cheapest one, meaning no cancellations? You have to pay a little more for a room you can cancel. Also most places won't take a cancellation if it's less then 24 hours from your date of stay.

The lowest rate almost always means no cancellations, no changes, no exceptions.

What the others said. And I bet it was on the confirmation page before the OP paid.

If that price allows no cancellations or (no refund for cancellations) then what is your complaint?

Sure, it SAID no refunds, but that couldn't possibly apply to MOI!!!
*sigh*

After working at a hotel for 2 years, I can tell you:
1. Most hotels have a 24 period before your arrival, we can't cancel your reservation.
2. Online places (Our direct hotel sites, expedia & other third party sites..) say somewhere in bold print, once the price has been processed, you will not be refunded.
