Wal-Mart Complaint - Site-To-Store nothing more than a gimmick and a scam.
MT. JULIET -- So, for the holiday's I received from my girlfriend's parents a Wal-mart gift card. Normally, I refuse to shop at Walmart due to what they do to local economies and how they treat their employees. However, a gift card is a gift card and my policy is that I will not complain about any gift as long as I can use it or return it.
For several months now I have been wanting the some accessories for my game system. Normally, I would have had them shipped to the Walmart near me; however, as I was going to be in Mt. Juliet the next day, I decided to have them shipped there (also my girlfriend works not far from their). I though, that if they listed said items in stock at the store they would let me swap them out for what I ordered as long as they were the exact same items. BIG MISTAKE! Even though they had about half-a-dozen of one of the items sitting on the shelf and one of the others, they refused to let me swap them out. I mean come on! They are the exact same as what I ordered! Instead I am told, I would have to cancel the order and come to the store and buy them. Yeah, and pay about $10 more than what they charge on their website! They did not bother to even ask to see a receipt for the order, even though I had forgotten it at home. So now I am stuck waiting for the items to come in, and I won't have them in time for a party I am throwing later this week.
This is the last straw.... I am never EVER shopping at Walmart again... and neither should anyone else. Walmart needs to be put out of business as I have never encountered any other retailer as sleazy and corrupt as Walmart. If you really want to do in-store pickup for your purchases go to retailers that actually do IN-STORE Pickup (ie Best Buy)! They will gladly let you take the item off the shelf if it is not already set aside for you and you have proof of purchase. Not to mention, even though you pay only a few pennies more at other stores, they will actually show appreciation at respect for you, the customer.
