Bank of America Complaint - Bank of America is run by robots
I had a crummy $500.00 credit card with Bank of America, that is until I requested a credit line increase. I almost always keep a positive credit amount on that particular credit card because the limit is so low, usually about $200.00 positive credit. I did that, because to even use this stupid, almost worthless credit card to charge anything near $250.00 uses up 50% of the limit and I wanted to make sure I never got close to that. Anyway, I've had this card for nearly 2 years and I also have my business checking account with them too with no problems on my end of things. Last week I applied for an increase of $1000.00 and they turned me down flat. Not only that, they cancelled my credit card citing reasons of being deliquent on "other credits cards." When I showed them my credit report with NO deliquencies they quickly came back with another reason. Something about a charge off with MBNA in 1994. Yep, something they claim happened way back about 16 years ago. When asked to provide proof as to why this was not showinig up on my credit report they quickly came back to say that the reason was Capitol One had given me a credit line increase. Now remember, I keep a positive credit amount on this ridiculous stupid BofA credit card, and usually am exempt from the tiny little $15.00 a month payment because of that. Capitol One gave me the increase un-solicited from me. Maybe because I really am a great customer, or maybe because instead of the measly $75.00 a month they request, I send in something along the lines of $1000.00 to $2000.00 a month. All of the BofA representatives and the managers are nothing more than trained robots. No one with intelligence is in a position to make any real decisions. It almost appears that decisions are made from some computers point of view. I just find it hard to believe that there was any good reason to cancel this credit card. I never abused it, in fact, there was usually more than enough positive credit there to take care of any small purchase that I made. I can't begin to tell you how diminished I felt as a person and I feel so very sorry for those forced to live out the policies of some very greedy and very stupid people who some how found themselves in charge of BofA. Adding insult to injury the last robot (Lisa) I talked to said in very syrupy voice, "We can review this for you, but we will have to access your credit report again and unfortunately this will nick your credit score." I told her I would never do business with BofA again and expressed my sorrow and concern that she worked for such an arrogant and obviously unethical business.
