Showcase Cinemas Complaint - Concessons for Diabetic persons

Review by on 2001-08-05
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY -- Im a nurse at a small group home for individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. We try to provide a community based lifestyle for individuals with the severest of disability. Anyways, our staff took 3 of our clients to see Dr. Doolittle2 at you Stoneybrook location in Louisville KY last week. One client is diabetic. Your facility only had 1 selection available for a diabetic, namely diet soda pop. It was unfortunate that this client could not have enjoyed a snack from the concession stand with her movie companions. In addition, what we did purchase was overpriced. Does two dips of ice cream really cost 3.00?

To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:

Offer more wholesome foods. Offer a variety of foods that do not contain empty calories. For suggestions consult the American Diabetic Association. Most foods can be obtained commericially that are compatible for ADA diet recomentdations.

At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.

If you are so concerned about your diabetic friend then have him bring his own snacks into the establishment. They won't able to argue with him when he explains why. Please do not expect the cinemas to re-strucutre their inventory around certain "special" needs.
