Footlocker Complaint - Dissapointed - sweat suits

sweat suits - Complaint
Review by prtydrkchild on 2009-12-30
FLINT, MICHIGAN -- I am so disappointed this year in footlocker, my father goes to Foot Locker every year to buy his sweat suits because they always carry his size 4x but come to find out they didn't get any 4x in this year. but the worst thing of all was that they had the display set up where he was not even allowed to come into the store with his wheelchair and we were told that they could not move the display so he could shop in the store. so needless to say I guess footlocker lost a loyal customer

Safety reasons?
Order online?
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-12-30:
I think all places that have public access are required to meet ADA standards, meaning "reasonable accommodation" as well as accessability.

I believe by law he should have been allowed in, however, should not have expected displays to be moved for him.

there are missing items in this review. please explain how the door was blocked?
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-12-30:
i'd suggest calling the local ADA and the local fire department.

the ADA to get them after the store to make the entranceway clear enough to allow a wheelchair to pass through unimpeded

and the fire department to make sure the entrance blockage isn't violating fire codes
Posted by madconsumer on 2009-12-30:
there are not enough details to know whether or not any ada compliance law have been violated.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-12-30:
By the time the ADA gets there the display will have been taken down and isn't the fire department's job to get people OUT of places and not INTO them?
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-12-30:
or the ada can tell them if it is too?
Posted by jktshff1 on 2009-12-30:
Yea, too many details left out. Aisle too narrow? Display blocking access to the store? Mall? Stand alone store?
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-12-30:
Maybe the display was bolted to the floor?
Too heavy?
Too complex to move?
There must be some reason in there as to why they couldn't move it.
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-12-30:
well if there's trouble getting in... if someone in a wheelchair manages to get in
he or she might have trouble getting out, no?

plus there might be regulations on what is allowed to be placed within x amount of feet of the door,

Too vague in the detail department here. Who knows?
Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
the ADA is an act, not a person
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-12-30:
Meaning a representative from the agency.
Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
... it's not an agency
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-12-30:
Do they not have people to enforce the said ACT?
Looks like the said ACT has AGENCIES to enforce it to me.

That's right Peps, it's all about SEMANTICS around here you know? *wink-wink*
Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
Pepper, please you had no idea what you were talking about.

It is about semantics when you look like a doofus.
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-12-30:
excuse me?

you're now calling me a doofus

what is wrong with you?
Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
yes, that is what I did. =-)
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-12-30:
so, there's a reason why you have to use name-calling in your posts?

no offense but it sounds like you're doing a lot of the same actions you've accused others of doing in other posts.

name-calling really should never be used to prove a point.
not unless your point is so weak that it cannot stand without such tactics
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-12-30:
sounds like you really can't get along without bashing.

and here i thought you said you weren't going to be stooping.

in my opinion i have to agree, your actions are actually below anything lady s does =)

Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
Not my fault you are a doofus.
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-12-30:

Posted by PepperElf on 2009-12-30:
well not really.

i'm too busy knitting to cry

though i do wonder if it's in revenge for me disagreeing with you from previous posts.
Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
Yes, of course! Beware anyone who even try and disagree with me! For I am EVIL!
Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
Thank you Eloise. Your opinion means the world to me. Smooch!
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-12-30:

Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
I really enjoy diet coke.
Posted by Eloise on 2009-12-30:

Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
Too hard... for what?
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-12-30:
I'll take a diet coke, with a lime twist. Please.
Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
Sure ProConsumer! Would you like ice with that?
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-12-30:
oh yes please. And, they have lime flavored ice. If you've got that we can skip the lime twist. :)
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-12-30:
As usual *Brenda* is right. The ADA is a law. It's not a person, it's not an agency, they don't have local branches and there is no ADA staff. It's merely a law. Like all laws of the land enforcement is handled by one agency or another. In the case of the ADA enforcement is handled by the justice department.

Zzrokk my friend I do live to educate you.
Posted by *Brenda* on 2009-12-30:
Why thank you Stew.
