Maytag Corporation Complaint - Maytag dishwasher and customer service are both bad
After going through the Neptune debacle and having Maytag politely tell me "stick it in my ear" when I asked what they would do to help the mold problem, I didn't expect to have anything else go wrong. I was wrong. My dishwasher quit working. It wouldn't start. I tracked the problem to the door handle. The local appliance parts store had 8 in stock. That means they fail for lots of people. I replaced it. I still had problems. The latch didn't hold on the bosses it was screwed into because the plastic holding the screws broke. It's still an issue, however. I contacted Maytag, sure that they would provide the parts required since I was doing the work. They offered to give me 15% off on the purchase of a new appliance. Not necessary - I will NEVER buy another Maytag, Whirlpool or KithenAid appliance and will tell everyone that's will listen to avoid them as well. They had the chance to keep me as a customer after all of the engineering disasters I encountered and they totally blew it on customer service, which is a product of the major corporation. Therefore, I view Whirlpool and other associated companies as suspect. PLEASE DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY. If they run OK, you're all set. If not, you'll be very sorry.
