Van Camps Chicken of the Sea Complaint - Terrible Tuna - Van Camps Tuna

Review by ksfarmer on 2009-12-30
I opened two cans of Van Camps Chicken of the Sea Tuna tonight and the contents were nothing but slop. It was so soupy it was impossible to drain the water from the Tuna. No more of this crap for me. Absolutely terrible.

Tuna in water.

Try the pouches. I hear they are better quality.

personally I prefer the method of cutting the lid off with the can opener and then squeezing the lid down to encourage drainage.

though I don't use van camps - I use wegman's cos it's cheaper than the regular brands

I like tuna in oil better.

Pro had the right answer. We have been using the pouches for over a year now, and are very happy. The pouch has almost nothing but tuna, so there is no draining and seeing half the weight of the container going down the drain. It mixes with other ingredients much better than CIAC (cr@p in a can). It is a much better bargain, even though it costs a bit more, because it is ALL tuna.

The pouches are good. I bought a pouch of tuna to try to get my sick cat to eat something, and it was fresh, chunky, pink and she ate it. There was no goopy water to contend with.

sherdy, another tip for your cat if he/she is still sick, microwave wet food for a few seconds. It makes the food stinkier and they smell it better. =-)

Thank you Brenda.

I purchased a can of your sardines and in the can was only 2 sardines and a dime. Yes, .10 cents. Thanks for the dime. But I'd rather had more sardines in my can WM6KAM
