Overstock.com Complaint - Ripped off
I ordered and paid for a 3-piece quilt set for $70.00; when I received the package, inside was just the quilt-- the 2 shams were missing. I informed Overstock.com customer service and the person said they would contact the "Parts Department" and have them send me the missing shams. In a couple of days I got an email saying they did not have anymore and I could return the quilt for a full refund or keep the quilt and ask for what I considered to be a fair partial refund for the missing shams. I looked at similar shams on their own website and decided that $17 each for quilted, scalloped shams was conservative and reasonable.
They told me they could only refund me $8 for each sham for a TOTAL of $16. I liked the quilt and had already used it-- for our guest room and Christmas guests. What could I do? I sent them an email asking them if they were kidding, though I had no choice but to accept whatever refund they wanted to give me, no matter how unfair it was. It was a sick joke to tell me in the first place, that I had input in deciding what my refund should be.
I ordered dozens of things online for Christmas. I had only one bad experience, and it was with Overstock.com. I don't want to do business with them ever again!!
