Dell Computer Corporation Complaint - The Dell Christmas Week & New Year's Day Nightmare
Prior to the X-mas, my computer crashed with a blue screen. I called Dell and then said you need a new hard drive and motherboard. We are sending one and you will have next 1-2 day installation by our technical support people who is a company by the name of Unisys. Unisys told me that they had no one to send to my office because they were short handed. I screamed I am a Dell Support Tech Support Customer, but it made absolutely no difference. What a joke. Their vendor showed up one day prior to X-mas eve and installed the new hard drive and motherboard. They sent the wrong operating system - Windows XP Home Edition and Optiplex Drivers! I had no choice but to install the windows system with a Dell tech. support guy on the phone and thank God I had the original drivers to this computer saved. Spent days reloading my programs, documents, etc.
New Years Day! Another blue screen and crash. They can't analyze it in safe or last restore mode. Ssending another hard drive, but this time installed with the Windows XP Professional Operating System! Why in gods name did they not send me a hard drive the first time around with a preinstalled windows. Now I am told a new hard drive will go out on Monday and if I am lucky installed sometime next week. The service and the run around and the fact that wrong items were shipped is enough for me to purchase a completely different system other than Dell. Be careful when selecting a computer. I am thinking of going APPLE.
