Chase Manhattan Bank Complaint - Rude, unwilling to help, terrible!!
My payment (which I paid two weeks in advance) got lost in the mail and I didn't realize it until I got the next month's statement with a $39 late fee. When I called to explain my situation (ready to provide all of the information about the check I wrote) the woman I spoke with wouldn't even hear me out! She just told me it was MY fault for making payments through the mail instead of using online payments! I couldn't believe it. I called a second time to complain about the first call and to hopefully find someone willing to help but I got the same thing. So I ended up cancelling my card.
I had had the card originally through WaMu and they were always nice to me. This is the first time this has happened to me and I expected the company to work with me. Now I am stuck with a late fee for sending in a payment TWO WEEKS ahead of time, as well as a ding against my credit score. I will not be dealing with Chase again.
