DirecTV Inc Complaint - They refuse to Suspend your account
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, COLORADO -- In October 2008 I called Direct TV to suspend service since my TV was inoperable. They said that they would, but they didn't. They continued to bill me for monthly service fees and I called for suspension. After two months, I called to terminate the service. I had been a customer for 7.5 years. They refused to reimburse the fees for the months that I requested suspension. I put the bill into dispute and wrote to the Billing Disputes department. They responded by sending the bill to collection. I paid it to avoid additional adversity on my credit report and have filed complaints with the California Attorney General (consumer complaint) and the Federal Trade Commission (Consumer Practices division). My next move will be to take them to small claims court. $102 is a small amount, but this is a predatory company that lies and manipulates its customers.
