Solid Gold Sound Complaint - DJ's Beware don't do gigs for this company
EDGEWOOD, KENTUCKY -- Got a call from a guy needing a DJ that evening, said his DJ had a family emergency. He found my name on Craigslist where I sometimes advertise. Said he had a Wedding to do in my area and would be able to pay me my usual rate, but it would come from their corporate account in 10 to 12 business days. I was skeptical but did a quick search online and didn't find much other than they existed and did weddings so I though they were legit. I did that wedding with 4 hours of preparation to get the song list together (got most of them). They called me the next day and asked if I could do another one in 2 weeks so I agreed thinking I would be paided in a couple of weeks. This was early October 2009 and it is now January 2010 and still nothing. I have repeatedly contacted them and all I get is payroll is behind it will be there soon and lately they won't return my phone calls. I dug deeper and it seems to be a pattern with these guys. They pick DJ's off craigslist (this should be a warning to the brides hiring also you never know who you might get) feed the DJ a line like some family death just occurred for their DJ and need a fill in. You do a gig or 2 and then they never pay and move to the next DJ in Craigslist.
