The Mortgage Mitigation Law Group Complaint - Mortgage Modification (Misrepresentation)
ST PETERSBURG, FLORIDA -- On Dec 10, 2009 I contacted Sovereign Bank to modify my mortgage under the Obama Plan, "Making Homes Affordable". I gave them my information and they said someone would call me back. Several hours later I got a call from TMMLG (The Mortgage Modification Law Group). They led me to believe that Sovereign Bank had contacted them to assist in my loan modification. The next day I paid a huge fee of $2750 up front to expedite my case. I would not have done this, but again, was led to believe they already had my loan file and were already in contact with Sovereign Bank.
I called TMMLG in late December to inquire about my case and was given the run around. Getting no where I then called Sovereign Bank and was informed that they never give out loan information to third party processors and that nothing was going on with loan. In fact if I had dealt with Sovereign Back directly, my loan modification would almost be completed. Additionly I was told by TMMLG that their "Lawyers" were very experienced in litigating a better deal than you could get on your own. After talking with Sovereign Bank I found out that third party processors merely process the same paper work that would be required by the homeowner and in most cases the third party processors usually take much longer to arrive at the same results.
I would like to know how TMMLG, who operates out of Mericopa Arizona and St Petersburg Florida, how did they obtain my contact information on the same day that I called my mortgage company.
I want my money, $2750, and my files returned to me.
