DirecTV Inc Complaint - Direct TV is the WORST company I have ever dealt with
COLORADO -- I am writing this complaint because Direct TV took $794.00 dollars out of my bank account. Yes it's true, I guess it was part of the fine print and the fact that I gave them my credit card number for 'incidentals' when the dish was installed.
I fell behind by 1 payment and when I called to make the payment I was told that I had paid $794.00 from my bank account. I did not owe anything near that, but they charged me $225.00 for early cancellation and nearly $400.00 for the receivers (as if I wanted to buy them).
We then worked it out (so I thought) and they agreed to charge me only what I owed (novel idea right?) and reverse the 'early cancellation fee' and 'equipment fees'. They then proceeded to tell me it takes 30 days (a MONTH) to process the refund. Well after a month I called and was told that it would take another 2 weeks because somebody had cancelled my refund accidentally.
1.) Run away from Direct TV as there are undoubtedly better options but I did not research enough at the time.
2.) Never give your credit card number for 'incidentals' to the cable/dish company.
3.) If you did not do #2, then get a new debit card a few days before you cancel your cable/dish to avoid having to 'buy' receivers and as a result give the cable company a 2 month interest free loan on your money.
