HOUSTON TEXAS -- Electricity from HELL!

Never in my life have I had an electric company that really charged an arm and a leg.

My Fiance and I both have jobs and we work very hard and we still can't get caught up on a $300.00 dollar electric bill every month. What really steams me is the fact that before Christmas I payed our bill completely up, as I was informed on the phone with the Relient Representative. Come to find out after the new year... we receive a disconnection letter not a next months bill and they are subject to cut our power off, when I informed them that I was told that we didn't have a balance, and we haven't received a bill, and told them that the remainder would be paid on the 12th when we get paid again. That was non negotiable. I'll tell you one thing if they cut my power off in this cold weather..I don't know what to do. That's quite cruel for a little over a hundred balance.... All around this service company is too expensive and I have lost an arm and a leg and I feel like I am working to pay a light bill that never gets lit.

That really does suck. You have more than one electric provider there in TX, don't you? Why dont you just switch to the other provider? Unfortunately, many of us are stuck with one electric company and don't have any other choice, so we are at the mercy of whatever they want to charge us. Hell, when I first moved into out house here in Myrtle Beach, I called to have th water put in my name. The water was already on, and flowing. The lady was not very friendly. She said he had to pay an application fee, 25 dollars. Put 75 dollar deposit down, and another 75 dollars connection fee. I told her that all we want to do is put the water in our name. The water is already on, it doesnt need to be turned on. She just got snippy with me and said "Oh well Im showing its off. Someone must have turned it on without us knowing. You still have th pay the fee." SO we paid 75 dollars for someone to come out and turn water on that was already on. Whatever. Its not like I had any other choice. they can do what they please.
