GLEN FALLS, NEW YORK -- Travelers is blatantly and fraudulently denying my claim for hail damage to my roof in spite of overwhelming evidence of such damage.
In April 2008 every roof in my neighborhood sustained hail damage. All my neighbors (including the entire new townhouse development behind me) had to have their roofs replaced due to hail damage. Travelers admits I sustained hail damage…to the vents on my roof. They have even sent me a check for $232.55 for "repairs due to hail damage." However, according to Travelers, the hail was very selective. While it damaged my vents, it did not damage my shingles. I can only assume thousands of little old men in derby hats were out there holding their red umbrellas over my roof...but not over my vents.
Travelers claims the damage to my roof was caused by "heat blistering," a condition resulting from inadequate venting...even though Travelers contradicts their own assertion by admitting I must have vents since these vents were damaged by the selective hail. Further, heat blistering damage would have to come from underneath the shingles, not from on top as the damage to my roof. Three roofers have given their opinions that I do not and could not have heat blistering, that the damage is due to hail.
I have submitted to Travelers 2 estimates from reputable roofing companies in this area which estimates assert that the damage to my roof was caused by hail, but Travelers continues to deny my claim.
I am a senior citizen, female and single. I believe I am the victim of discrimination. I would like to make contact with other people who have had similar experiences with Travelers with the proposed goal of a class action lawsuit for discrimination and damages. If you have been thus victimized and fall into the above-referenced categories, please post to this website.
