evercom billing services Complaint - complaint about billing practice

Review by donkey on 2004-09-06
OREGON, ILLINOIS -- LIKE LADYDI WROTE ABOUT THE EVERCOM BILLING PRACTICES. I HAVE A LOVED ONE IN THE OGLE COUNTY JAIL IN OREGON,IL AND I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTING HER COLLECT CALLS. SHE WAS INFORMED BY JAIL TRUSTEES THAT EACH CALL WAS $7.50, AND NOW I RECEIVE A AUTOMATED CALL FROM EVER COM TELLING ME I HAVE A BILL OF $536.18 AND MY LINE IS RESTRICTED. I HAVE TRIED TO CALL THEM EVERY DAY FOR THE PAST WEEK AND I CANNOT TALK TO A REAL PERSON. I HAVE CALLED MY LOCAL CARRIER AND I HAVE A BALANCE OF $4.OO, SO WHERE IS THIS SO CALLED $500.00 BILL GOING. WE HAVE AAA+ CREDIT AND WE ARE MORE THAN WILLING TO PAY THIS BILL BUT WHO AND WHERE DO WE SEND THE APYMENT. AND WHY ALL THE MYSTERY AROUND THE COMPANY. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BBB AND MY LOCAL CONGRESSMAN TO SEE HOW EVERCOM CAN CONTINUE TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ANSWERS TO HOW I CAN GET THIS PAID SO I CAN TALK TO MY LOVED ONE. ALL SHE KNOWS IS MY PHONE IS BLOCKED AND HAS NO REASON WHY. IS THAT FAIR??????

you pay that much ahead on your phone bill donkey and get a reference # to call into evercom and 800 844 6592 and they will take the restriction off then
