American Express Complaint - Fraudulent and untrue credit reporting
I have been with American Express since 1988, and needed to set up a payment plan with them to cover an outstanding balance.
American Express did so, with explicit terms, which they sent me copy of, and I have complied to the letter, with one payment left.
I was informed that American Express has taken that specific account and reported it as "Cancelled card" and "Bad Debt Write Off" on my credit reports, when in fact, I have lived up to all terms, payments on time as agreed, and they refuse to correct it.
It has affected my business, unable to get credit, and some issuers have reduced lines of credit because of fraudualnt reporting by AmEX.
I went to local consumer affairs reporter in Portland Oregon, and they aired story, after contacting AmEx who said it was a misunderstanding, that they would contact me (which they never did) and asked the reporter to "sit on the story" until it could be worked out. She did not and it is available to view at www.koin.com, under the heading of "don't mess with my money". It is available from 1/8/10 thur 1/23/10 and I am trying to put it on U-Tube.
This company is ruining 30 years of conscious effort to protect credit, and THEY DO NOT CARE.
