Dollar Rent A Car Systems, Inc. Complaint - Tricked and Fooled into Doubling the rental rate
SAN FRANCISCO -- The lady at the desk seemed nice, but then.... Via internet booked the midsized car for just less than $200. No extra costs would apply according to the independent website. However, according to the Dollar employee at san francisco NO BODY would leave without the insurance and many more unasked for extra's bringing the total up to over $ 400 !? 4wd was a better choice since we're in California in the winter: snow and ice. For crying out load: mildest climate on the globe when it comes to winter, has never seen snow in 100 years, tries to sell us a 4wd 'to be sure 'or at least snow-chains.
We were shocked when we left her.
Check out the car: a little towncar with shattered lights, damaged and scratched all over, the parking attendant sez: go check the car for damage yourself, draw it into the diagram yourself, we trust you. This was were we were TOTALLY unhappy with DOLLAR. So much unproffessionalism, and so much sneekyness in squeezing that last dollar out of your wallet. Obnoxious - that is the describtion for our feelings upon leaving these crooks. The best part has yet to come: what are they gonna say about this total scratched and damaged car when it comes back? Want some advice? There's 10 other car rentals out there. this had been the first and also the last time we gave Dollar a change, and they blew it completely.
