AT&T Complaint - The worst customer service.......EVER!!!!!!!! - Worldnet Internet Service

Worldnet Internet Service - Complaint
Review by ColdStar on 2004-09-08
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO -- I had subscribed to ATT's worldnet internet service which worked flawlessly until it came time to cancel the service. This was when the fun began. I attempted to call ATT 4 times and was unable to attain a cancellation of my account so I then attempted an online cancellation which I was also denied for some reason. My wife finally managed to get the account cancelled on September 4 04(after enduring a struggle with a poorly speaking Indian(no racism meant with that statement...later in this article you will see the relevance to this statement) but was told that ATT has a policy that does not allow prorating of an account anymore. So it appeared that we would be stuck with a $14.95 payment for an account that we would not be using, even though the billing cycle for September had just went through on September 3 one day before we had managed to actually speak to a human that could close our account. So I decided to get to the bottom of this mischief and call myself, because I have used ATT for many years for various things with flawless execution.
So begins the worst customer service experience I have ever recieved in my life! I called the 800# and got a hold of an individual with an odd accent claiming an American name who confirmed what my wife had told me about the new policy and I politely asked for his supervisor who confirmed the same thing. I proceeded to ask for his name and ATT employee ID number and he would not give them to me and hung up on me. So being the good stubborn consumer that I am I called back to attempt to resolve this frustration and immediatly requested to speak to an American account representive(since the current people I was speaking with could not resolve my problem) at which point the individual decided he was going to dance around my request. I politely persisted and he continued to dance, I must have finally annoyed him because he asked me if I was being racist(can you believe it....requesting an american account rep is now a racist statement) he then called me "demanding" and "a whining cry baby". If I was not mad before I am by now. So I proceed to do the correct thing a tell him off and hang up. ATT this message goes directly to you-"You have lost a customer in both me and my family forever, I will never use your services again and hope to see you in court with a class action law suit over such slanderous activity and poor customer service....I wish nothing but the worst for you. Oh and one last thing, I you wish to staff your call centers with foriegners, at least make sure they can SPEAK ENGLISH proficiently or transfer the customer to someone who can. Better yet if you want to employ foriegners then let foriegners support your substandard corporation because I will be out there shouting in every Americans ear that I can reach not to use your services!!!!! Oh and I still want my money Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I have used At&t in the past and just so you know I have never had a problem. And because someone has an accent does not make them a foriegner. They could be just as American as you and me. And remember the Indians were here first and im pretty sure they didnt speak english.

I am going through the same thing. Went to a call center in India 3x as well. It is India, you can belive that. They also have lists to read off and can't authorize ANYTHING themselves. I'm so frustrated I could scream at the moment.
