Home Depot Complaint - "6 Months No Payment No Interest" - Not Always
TORONTO -- On October 26, 2009, I ordered a new window (at store # 7073) which cost total of $ 649.95. At that time was a promotion at Home Depot "6 months no payments no interest": it is written on a big sign next to the "customer's service" counter.
However, I had to pay $ 194.98 As a deposit, because "it is under $200". It is understood that purchases under $ 200 are not included in the promotion, but my purchase was $619+tax and it should go under "no payments 6 months". The accounting department said that if I don't pay the $194.98 (Charged on my Home Depot card) will be interest on that $ ! They suggested to go back to the store. I did, bringing my original contract (#2252156) but they tried to convince me that the first payment of the window is a deal on its own...
After 6 weeks I asked where is my window. Had to call 3 times and then I went there again. On December 23 my window "was found". A woman called me to tell me that my door will be installed on January 22th, 2010. A door? I ordered a window...3 Months ago! I went to Home Depot and begged them to release me from the window after my nightmare with the floor. I said I don't trust Home Depot anymore. At least tell me who is the supplier and installer, but they would not give me that information.
They sent me back to 1-800-Homedepot."It is easy to remember" said graham from store # 7073.This is not amusing for me... Obviously, I don't want to lose my money. I work hard for it. What will happen on January 22 th? Would it be the window I had ordered being installed? Would it fit in (came to measure twice!) Or it will be another disaster with Home Depot's installations?
Waiting in fear...
