Dell Computer Corporation Complaint - Dell Financial Services won't accept my payment because Checkfree handles it
Yesterday I tried to pay my monthly online payment to Dell for the computer and other items I purchased in the last year. When I went to the Dell Financial Services site, I discovered my account had been suspended for a $35 late payment. The suspension required that I get on the phone with DFS. They informed me I couldn't pay my bill online until I paid a bill in dispute from a company called "Checkfree", who injects itself into online payments for many, many companies, including Entergy in New Orleans. In December, Checkfree deducted $264.13 from my bank account for Entergy, an amount I say vehemently and to this moment, that I did not authorize. The only contacts I've received from "Checkfree" have been hostile and heavy-handed, insisting I scheduled this payment. I still insist I did not, and it also tilted my bank account and incurred a $35 overdraft fee from the bank. I went to my bank and retrieved the funds Checkfree had deducted from my account. And now I discover Dell Financial Services won't accept my Dell payment until I pay the Checkfree amount. Legally, I believe this is wrong and in trying to resolve this, I discover Dell has no one you can contact about a problem with Dell Financial Services. If you think this isn't one of the most frustrating experiences, you just can't even begin to imagine how much time I've spent trying to resolve this, without being able to contact Dell because Checkfree always picks up the phone for Dell Financial Services and handle Dell's online payments.
I will never, ever buy another Dell product. I also, in all this investigation, have discovered that out of almost 3,000 reviews of Dell Corporation, they rate a horrible designation. It's like the tar baby, the more you wiggle, the worse it gets and the more trapped you are.
DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH DELL AND WITH CHECKFREE. Besides, the computer I bought has been fraugt with problems and had I not bought the extended warranty, I would have paid thousands of dollars to repair different items that broke on my XPS M1530 laptop, all the way from keyboard to disk drive to hard drive which crashed and ate all my data. Stay away from these losers. And as far as customer service, neither of these companies has any concept of the idea.
