Priceline.com Complaint - No code of responsibility
On Sunday night I entered "Hotels in Albuquerque, NM" into my laptop. I found several listings for hotels, including photos and amenities at those particular hotels. I chose one based on location, breakfast, an indoor pool, and cost. When I went to confirm my information I was given a receipt from priceline.com. I arrived at noon on Saturday, the day I was suppose to. It was apparent from outside that the pool was under construction. I immediately went inside and spoke to the hotel attendant. I explained how I had chosen the hotel based on their website information. The attendant explained that the pool was not operational and their breakfast consisted of cereal. He then went on to say that the hotel was not responsible for the content of the webpage, that Priceline.com was. The manager was not available and the hotel could not help, would not give me a discount, and would not walk me to another hotel. I called the representative for Priceline.com and he stated that Priceline is not responsible for the amenities and it was too late for me to cancel. He said there was nothing they could do but that they would be keeping my money.
I told both the hotel and Priceline.com that they offered a service, got my money, and then did not deliver what was advertised. Neither party was willing to do anything except keep my money. Long story short, I stayed elsewhere and had to pay for my hotel rooms twice. Never use priceline.com!
