Lake Norman Nissan / Toyota Complaint - Bad Business
NORTH CAROLINA -- I applaud you for having this site. For new car owners, you don't expect to have issues w/ your car after the paperwork & financing has been done. Even when you have an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty. Here is my story. I went through an auto-buying service within my credit union to purchase my 2005 Nissan Altima - which bought my car from LAKE NORMAN. I had fog lights and the spoiler installed (which I paid additional for). After having the car for 2 weeks, one of my fog lights fell out. I took it to my local Nissan dealership and learned LAKE NORMAN installed AFTER MARKET FOG LIGHTS on my car. My local dealership said they would not repair the light that fell out because #1, it doesn’t fit properly, #2, the mounting holes had been stripped and #3 the other fog light was about to fall out as well. I had them remove the other light and decided to return to my office and make some phone calls.
LAKE NORMAN requested I take my car to a custom installation place to have my fog lights repaired and that they would be repaired for the life of my car. What part of “my fog lights aren’t Nissan factory” did they not understand? I demanded they show me proof of paying $400 for my lights (which I paid additional on my loan) and I would consider it. Needless to say, they called me back and agreed to have the factory lights installed at my local dealership.
Today I returned to have my fog lights installed. Payment arrangements should have been made prior to my arrival. Guess what? The local dealership doesn’t have anything setup with LAKE NORMAN to pay the bill. Doesn’t surprise me. Even after I triple checked w/ LAKE NORMAN for the past 3 days!
I am writing to make you aware that the LAKE NORMAN DEALERSHIP does EXTREMELY BAD BUSINESS. I mean how do I know my air bags were installed? How do I know if I have a Nissan engine? Buy your cars from some place else!!!
