Lowe's Compliment - It was a pleasure!
HORSEHEADS, NEW YORK -- Recently I became concerned with the age of my hot water heater. I am a senior and never had much to do with maintenance when my Husband was alive. I started shopping and went to three stores. Of the three I was treated very well by an employee who works in the plumbing department at our local Lowes. He spent extra time with me and explained to me the difference between purchasing a unit that was very close to the measurements of the one I was replacing, because extra installation charges would have to be paid if I replaced the unit with a "tall" model, because of the change of location of the venting pipes on the older unit. The other two stores never brought that up, and tried to sell me a "taller" one. I ordered the unit that day from Lowes and was pleased at the service and time he gave me.
My unit was installed on January 20th 2010 by the installer. He was efficient and answered my questions at length. He was careful of my carpeting as the day had fresh snow in the driveway. The replaced used unit was located in the basement and the new unit had to be transported down the stairs, where the used unit had to be transferred up the stairs to the waiting truck. He arrived on the agreed upon time, made the installation quickly and I was free to keep some appointments I had made for later in the day. I am very pleased with the work and with the treatment I received from both of these men.
I am sorry that the rules state that I cannot name these two men, but I spoke with a representative of Lowes by phone, and was able to name them. Instead of a problem they made it a pleasure.
