Christmas Day 2009 my Monogram range oven door locked for cleaning in the middle of cooking dinner and would not reopen. After waiting hours on hold for a service person I finally got a GE repair person to visit 11 days later and try to open the oven door with a wire hanger. I was contacted 2 days later saying that my range would have to be replaced in lieu of repairing. Now after 3 weeks, hours on the phone and speaking to over a dozen people it seems I will have to spend over $4000 out of pocket
to replace my Monogram Range since it turns out GE will only pay 80% of the price they found post online from a company 1000 miles away and that they no longer have available. What a joke GE and Assurant Solutions have turned out to be.
