Mr. Hero on W.117th in Lakewood Complaint - Advertised Special

Review by monkeybassturd on 2010-01-21
LAKEWOOD, OHIO -- We just went to Mr. Hero on W. 117th in Lakewood because of the recently advertised special of 18 different sandwiches for five bucks. They had a sign inside the store also advertising the deal. Turns out this particular store does not follow that campaign. As a matter of fact the employee inside the store went so far as to tell us the owner of the establishment sued corporate Mr. Hero so he didn't have to give the five dollar deal (we know that is crap). So we decided to pay regular price for the sandwiches any way and left. To our surprise when we got home we found out that not only are the sandwiches two dollars more than the advertised price but they have half the meat. To who ever owns that establishment, "Way to keep customers pal." From this moment on, when someone asks me if I like sub sandwiches I will send them to Penn Station and if they insist on Mr. Hero I will send them to the othe Mr. Hero by the theatre.

A little tip. Look for the words, "At participating locations." If this Mr. Hero is a franchise, tell them to read their franchise contract. I doubt that corporate can make them adhere to the offer if they wish not to. Those three little words give him an out. If the promotion were mandatory then the disclaimer is a fraud, which, IMHO, would be grounds for a suit. I don't believe his claimed suit has any merit.

Maybe I forgot to mention this, they were advertising this special inside this location and the employee said the franchise owner sued Mr. Hero Corporation in order to not have the special.
