Toshiba Amer Info Systems Inc Complaint - Laptop service awful
I bought this very expensive toshiba laptop (portege, windows xp) in 2008, expecting excellent results. my disc drived failed within the first 5 months. I got it repaired. after another few months of use it failed again. toshiba had me send it to them for repair. I got it back. a week later the computer doesn't even recognize the drive - worse than when I sent it in! now they expect me to send it back again, another 2 weeks w/o my computer! ridiculous! how can they get away with this horrible service? they offered nothing in the way of help. I paid over $3000 for this thing, and now am seriously regretting it. I won't be buying another toshiba product for a long time, perhaps ever. I don't recommend buying a portege if you plan on using the disc/DVD drive.
