YORK, NEBRASKA -- On June 16th after dealing with the worst salesman at Moses Motors in York, Nebraska we ended up with a car not as described. The salesman, was from out of state and there to help out. The Motor Vehicle Industry Licensing Board has been unable to find a Nebraska license for this person. We were very happy with our 2007 Chevy HHR and 2002 Kia which both got traded and only stopped at the dealer because of a contest they had going on. We ended up spending the entire day there (morning though afternoon) because they kept saying they could get us better deal on a Certified Preowned Ford and actually lower our payments on a newer car. We didn't get to eat all day and every time we went to leave they would have us wait saying they were working up more figures and disappearing into one of the offices. We finally gave into their dickering but ended up with payment over $100 more and as it later turned out a car not as described.
The big advantage the new car had versus the old was Multi-Disk Cd with Blue Tooth and SIRIUS Satellite Radio which according to the salesman it had. We did not have the time to try and set it up with the phone or check out the multi Cd option for several days after bringing it home beause Wife had it at work, so it was gone 5AM to 7PM June 17th through June 21st. On the 22nd after I read through the owner’s manual to see how to set up phone and load Cds and discovered we had a single Cd player with no options. Contact was made to MOSES MOTOR CO. on June 21 and 22nd. This vehicle also had a headlight that has moisture and finger prints inside of lens that there service department said was factory defective, but they did not change it. Vehicle was driven all the way back to Moses Motors on 6/27 so they could look at it and see it does not have multi-disk CD player or Blue Tooth.
We were told General Manager, would call us on 6/29 to let us know what would be done. No one called. On 7/1 I called and talked to Finance person and was told they were checking to see if the wiring was correct for the multi-disk CD player to fit in vehicle we now have. I was told someone would call me back on 7/2 to let us know what they were going to do. They didn’t call. On 7/3 I called and General Manager said he was going to try and get us another vehicle with the correct CD Player on 7/7 and would call us back that day. I called back on the 7/7 and General Manager said he was checking at 2 auctions. Called back on 7/8 and General Manager was off. I left a message for General Manager to call us back. I called back again, but was told to call 7/9. Wife called again 7/9 and General Manager said again he was looking for one at auction. A few days later they refused to talk to us on the phone and suddenly started to deny the salesman had told us about the features. They sold the HHR right away and the Kia got hit with hail. Since everyone at this so called dealership was refusing to talk to us on 7/16 we turned the car into the bank.
The bank sold it at a $3600 less than the loan. We took Dealer to small claims and won max of $2700, but almost 30 days later Owner said if we didn’t except $1200 he would appeal to County Court. He now has appealed and hired a lawyer. We lost over $10,000 because of this auto dealer and just want our story told so others may decide if it is worth the risk to go to Moses Motor Co.
