Addiction and Psychological Services Inc Complaint - Scam Company - Ripoff Treatment rehab center

Review by Takinitbehind on 2010-01-23
OREM, UTAH -- Addiction and Psychological services, Addicton & Psychological Services Inc also known as APS. This review is to let people know the things that go on here and to avoid this place at all costs. This is a private business before it's a treatment center as a result the bottom line is money. After attending here only months I started to hear stories about how they keep people here for months longer then there original assessment and you can't get out till the counselor determines that your ready. When your paying $200 a month and the business is losing money each month of course they want to keep you there as long as possible.

There are people there going on 18 months with no end in sight, If you have a choice of treatment centers go to one that actually cares about treatment instead of just money If you can go to a non profit organization. Spread the word this place is a scam they just want as much money out of you as possible

From your review, my understanding is that they are holding people hostage against their will so they can collect fees for services that are being forced upon them. Call the police and file criminal complaints for false imprisonment and I believe extortion may apply here. If this is true I will expect to hear it on the news next week.

i would also try to get proof - perhaps medical proof - that they're holding people back etc.

the original estimate on how long a person will need treatment might end up changing depending on how well the person responds and how willing they are to change their habits

How can people be held there against their will (and BILLED for it), if they have voluntarily checked in? What is stopping someone exactly from walking out? This whole thing sounds really odd and if what you say is even half true, you need to take this to an entity that can investigate this.

Are YOU still being held there?

$200 a month and losing money? That means they are losing money each passing month that you remain there. The cost of room and board would be certainly be more than that, add on top of it the psychological fees being accumulated. What exactly is it they have to gain by keeping you there more than is necessary? God forbid I would ever need this service, I am sure a family would intervene on my behalf and get legal help to get me out if I was indeed recovered and being held against my will.
