Utz Complaint - Utz Chips - Baked Ripple Potato Crisps
HANOVER, PENNSYLVANIA -- A few days ago, I purchased Utz Baked Ripple Naturally Baked Potato Crisps (yes they used the word 'baked' twice), in an effort to eat healthier foods. They cost $3.49 per 8.5 ounce bag.
Yesterday afternoon, I sat down to have a little snack before dinner.
I opened this bag expecting some degree of salty, crispy, potatoe-y goodness. Sadly, that was not the case.
The chips were crispy, and SWEET? The taste seemed very wrong, and I immediately checked the ingredient list. Sure enough, they cut way back on the salt and added sugar. Sugar on potato chips?
In my opinion, these chips are barely edible, and assaulted my palate to the point that I had to immediately down my entire beverage, in order to rid myself of the foul taste.
I do not recommend these chips to anyone. I also tried the sour cream and onion version (don't ask me why), and they were even more foul.
On a positive note, Utz does unconditionally guarantee their products, so I plan on writing to them to try to get my money back.
