AAA, Ins Informative - AAA does not care about customer of 56 years
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA -- My 90 year old mothers Check card was used by someone to order over $500.00 in merchandise from QVC,Inc. The only time the card had been used in the last 6 month was when she gave it to a Customer Service Rep at AAA Insurance co. to pay for her granddaughters Ins. I called AAA and informed them that someone in their customer service had stolen my mothers Check Card # and had either sold the information or used it them selves. AAA showed no interest in what happened to my mother, nor did they want to know anything about the person who might have done this. I called the Police Department, filed a report on the phone, I was told someone would get a hold of me, but it has been a month already and no one has contacted me.
Very few people can pin point where they used their check card or who they gave the # too, that might have stolen the #. I couldn't, I use my card a dozen times a week. But my mother could, the only time she had used the card was when she gave it to AAA. How many people have been ripped off by the person at AAA who stole the #. Most people wouldn't even suspect it was AAA customer service rep doing it and how could you prove it.
I am nervous about even sending a check to AAA, and I will never give my check card # to them. What surprised me was their attitude about this.
