Vonage Complaint - Avoid Vonage, tons of hidden fees
HOLMDEL, NEW JERSEY -- Good service when working, but good luck if you ever decide you don't want it anymore. I decided I didn't need the service anymore, especially since I never could get it to work with my fax machine. That's when the fun began.
I'm the kind of person who keeps good records and is pretty good about reading fine print. I may not read all 100 pages of a terms of service, but I try to skim for relevant information. Well they managed to bury in one of the 18 sections, each with numerous paragraphs and subsections, about $130 in fees if you cancel before two years. Of course, there is no record that I agreed to any of this because they don't actually send you the Terms of Service when you sign up. I'm assuming that's because this frees them up to change it as they see fit.
So after 45 minutes of hold time (you can only cancel Vonage over the phone), I finally got hold of somebody to cancel, and got hit with $130 in hidden fees for not keeping my account for two years.
Beware of Vonage. Somewhere in their terms of service they've got a bunch of hidden charges waiting for you.
