Air Canada Complaint - Switching seats
In August, I booked a flight from Tampa/Toronto/Tampa for January and chose seat 16 window seat and was confirmed. Air Canada changed my seating to ROW 25, CENTER SEAT. Prior warning, no advise notice, they just took it upon themselves to do this.
Also a change of gate at the airport was not announced until I asked that an announcement be made. There is a screen at the original gate where a notice could have been posted, but NO-O-O-O. That would take brainpower. The explanation for this was that those announcements of gate changes are not heard in the security area. That's the place it should be heard because we have to know which direction to go for the specific gates. What a mess.
Although not their fault, the wait to clear security on the way back to the US was monstrous. Two and a half hours of standing in lines to get to the plane to wait an hour on the plane until all passengers were on board.
Next time, I drive to Buffalo and fly cheaper and probably most efficient. It wouldn't take me any longer to do that.
Air Canada, if you have waning profits, look to how you handle passengers who are fed up.
