Sprint Complaint - Replacement/Refurbished Phones
When considering Sprint and problems with phones you have to know a couple of things. The customer service setup they have in place is made to deter you to the point you'll either give up and put up with the problem, or give up and pay for a new phone. I've had Sprint for 9 or 10 years. Last year I added my daughter and bought all three of us new phones. 6 months later the two phones for my wife and daughter started to malfunction. I called Sprint (1-1/2 hours) and 4 people later I arranged to order the replacement phones from the local store. They don't give you NEW phones, they're refurbished. This is even if you have insurance. Well my wife's phone had a bad button when she picked it up and died completely the next day. My daughter lost all her pictures. Another call to Sprint and another 1-1/2 hours on the phone I was told they had to replace-with refurbished units-the phones (4) FOUR times before I could get new. Since I was main account number, my wife and daughter were not eligible for an upgrade for (2) years. So I couldn't even partial pay for a new phone! The phones don't last more than a year or so you either pay $90-100 per year insurance, and pay $60 for the phone on top of that, which by the way is STILL a refurbished phone, or you pay full retail, which they've increased the price on.
It's a racket. You can't get a resolution from Sprint, they have you where if you want a NEW replacement you're going to have to pay for it. Absolutely disgusting. I'll wait till my contract's up and I'll find someone, anybody else to do business with.
